The secondary gamma-ray spectrum for radiative capture (MF 12,
MT 102) has been updated for new experimental data at incident
neutron energies up to 1 keV. The Q-value for radiative capture
was also updated in File 3.
Details of these changes are described in Frankel et al. [Fr01].
COVARIANCES, BNL, July 2011
Evaluation of covariances in the resonance region is based on
the kernel approximation and data from the Atlas of Neutron
Resonances. The resonance region extends to high energies.
The elastic scattering uncertainty was largely determined by
the contribution from potential scattering via the uncertainty
of the scattering radius R'. This work was again done fairly
carefully and we refer to the reader to BNL reports for the
detailed description of the kernel analysis in [1].
In the fast region, the ENDF/B-VI.8 covariances were used
as the basis. After review, uncertainties were increased in the
threshold region following dispersion analysis (see AFCI-1.2
report [2]). Elastic and inelastic uncertainties tended towards
conservative estimates whenever possible.
S. Kunieda (LANL/JAEA) updated the alpha-particle production
cross sections and energy spectra in MF6MT5 , based on the
improved Iwamoto-Harada model. Oct 22,2004, Holly Trellue remade mf6mt5 using corrected gnash
code, to fix an earlier bug. Impact is reduced sec. particle prod.
